Don, Just wanted to let you know what a great time we all had with you on Friday! I especially had a good time and can hardly wait to get back out there with family and friends! You made a comment that this was,"a labor of love", and it really is. Everyone who goes with you has a fun experience which they will remember for years to come. And me... 	Don: Yes this is yet another fish story, but this one is true! With pictures to prove it! As avid river fisherman Marco and his Dad Jim set out with their guide Don Kinsey Easter morning to catch "The Big One". It was a boy’s weekend with 6 guys and 3 guide boats. Our annual father-son fishing adventure with our river guides. After catching 7-12lb fish all-day Saturday with Don we were ready for a reel challenge. And a "Reel Challenge' is what we got! Several attempts were made to boat a few strikes but Marco could not quite make the strikes stick and get them to the net. It was ok that I lost a few average fish and that Dad was out fishing me. I told Don all I wanted was to catch one big guy and I would be a happy camper. Well Don gave me that opportunity. And this one STUCK! The moment I had the strike and set the hook I knew it was a large fish as it held it's ground like big fish do, after a couple of rotations of the reel, off he went! 95 yards up river past my buddies in the boat behind us. I hear a yell from the up river boat "oh my god there goes Marco's line" (flying up river past their boat). I never saw a fish run so far so fast, and I never knew Don could row up river like that! Well he almost spooled us! We finally got his head turned and out of the water he came, oh my God I realized, I had a trophy fish on an 8 lb. Test. Then down river he came, now I had another problem, can I reel fast enough as he heads down river towards us? Our buddies in the now passing boat waited below us for about 20 minutes and finally gave up on us and rowed on down river. I am sure they thought we didn't know what we were doing, it never takes that long to land a fish! Thanks to Don's maneuvering us up river so fast and into softer water we were able to land this guy in about 35 minutes. Not bad, a gigantic catch on only an 8lb test! Official information according to the taxidermy this buck was 30.5lbs, a 22 inches girth and 44 inches long. Thank you Don, I can now have the ultimate fish story and evidence to prove it. 	Hi Don, I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated the Friday trip and the hunt for those silver bullets. Actually I wanted to expand my thanks for the many wonderful days on "the river" over the years. I appreciate the hard work, the planning, the expense, the expertise, your personality and your passion for fishing. When I am in your boat, I feel we are fishing together. 	Hello, A few years ago in June my father in-law took our family fishing. You were my husband and my guide that day, and what a day that was! Even though it was cold and raining it was one of the best days of my life. It was my first time fishing. I had been catching little fish all day and was enjoying that and then my last cast of the day changed my life. I caught a 31" Steelhead!! My husband also did great that day catching to King Salmon. I think you might remember that we did not even like to eat fish. Well, we ate and shared our fish and it was sooo good. I thought you might enjoy this photo. 	Hi Don, Don, I gotta' say that you are uncanny both as a professional guide and an all-around great guy. You make me feel important and, good golly Babaloo, you sure show me a lot of quality fish. Your guidesmanship is impressive . . . you know the water and the steelhead temperment. You know where they live, big fella! Your casting advice was laser accurate. You've got all the big names. In your next life, you just have to write a book including your guide-jokes. They are funny! I thought your proclamation of "jerk, jerk, jerk . . . " was an offensive yet very appropriate characterization of the three of us but was ever so impressed that you were merely attempting to awaken Barney in time to set the hook as the rod was bouncing in his sleepy grasp. Can we count that one? And thanks for your patience. Ron has been fishing for steelhead for decades and is one the best steelheader's I've been around, and he is equally impressed with your abilities and insight. He calls you, "THE MAN".
